When using forums, blogs, and social media, don’t just spread links – this can come across looking like spam. Participate in these communities, engaging in discussions and sharing your thoughts. Use your signature line (according to the rules of the community) to link back to your site. Explore opportunities for guest blogging on the blogs that you follow. This is a great way to build your reputation while also spreading links.

Your external links shouldn’t all point to your home page. Whenever there is a more relevant page – say the description page for your product, or a video link – use that instead. This is not only easier on your visitors, who don’t have to look around for the information they wanted, but also creates stronger search engine optimization.

On your own site, make sure that visitors know you update your content regularly (and be sure that you do so!) Make it easy for them to sign up for a newsletter or email list, to follow you on social media sites, and to share material from your site with their friends.

To be the most successful, you should target your marketing campaign to a specific niche. If you’re spreading your links

everywhere haphazardly hoping to hit somewhere, you’re wasting a lot of effort and, probably, money too.
Don’t try too hard to narrow your niche if it’s not necessary. If your primary niche happens to be, say, males 30 to 50 years of age, then so be it. It still narrows it down for you: you won’t be spreading links of any of the popular websites for Moms or career women. However, you should still look for secondary niches to exploit. Do most of your customers drive luxury cars, or enjoy fine wines? You get the idea.Begin by figuring out what your primary niche is. This helps you to target your marketing campaign in places that your customers actually are. For example, if you make custom dog collars, your primary niche is dog owners. It’s often helpful to identify secondary niches. In this example, the general pet owners niche is also relevant. Any interest group which has an overlap with your primary niche – in other words, any community which has a high proportion of people who would be interested in your product or service – is a secondary niche where you can target potential customers.

The easiest way to go about it is to first identify the broadest definition of your target audience. Then break it down into subcategories, continuing until you find the perfect balance between specific and broad, where you are not leaving out any of your potential customers while not casting your net too widely.

Once you have identified your niches, begin to explore the marketing opportunities within them. Look for blogs, social media groups, and forums that fall within your niche, and become active within them. Your goal is to build a reputation and credibility within the niche.

I will try to draw you a picture of all the positive effects forum marketing can have on your internet business. I will also show you what most people do wrong and how you can get the most out this method with a great marketing strategy.

What are forums?

Forums are communities online in the form of message boards. You can post your own topics or answer to others posts. There are different forums to almost any topic online, from fishing and golf to forum marketing and business opportunities.

How and why should you do forum marketing?

Forum marketing can be one of the most targeted methods online, and it’s so easy to do. You just sign up for a forum and start posting your ads, right?

WRONG!

A lot of people are commonly doing that mistake. They go into different forums and post their ads all around or they us some sort of submitter to do it for them. If you want to get banned from a lot of forums and loose credibility at the same time, this is the way to do it.

The power of forum marketing is that it’s one of the best ways to build relations and a reputation online. Do not start by posting your ads everywhere in the forum. Actually, don’t post any ads at all (except in the classifieds sections, but this is not where the power of this marketing strategy lays).

Become part of the community, ask questions, answer questions, make friends and discuss topics that interest you (and your business). Show people that you’re not just another hyped up guy trying to earn money on tricking them into something. Be seen as a real, trustworthy person that is open to communicate with people. This shows you will be a good sponsor if they want to join your company.

What techniques can help me do this?

But how do I get people to my business?

There are two places you should have links back to you own business.

The first place to add your link is in your profile. It’s a perfectly legit and normal place to have a link to your main business.

The second place is in your signature. This is also done through your profile in the given forum, but be sure to read the forum rules before doing this (some forums do not allow ads in your signature). The signature is added to the end of all your posts with a line in between. Every time you communicate on the forum, your site will be promoted without you looking like an aggressive promoter.

You should make it a short description of your business linking to your business.

SIDE NOTE: Forums do not use HTML to ad colour, font, etc. to the text, but a code called bbc. An easy program to help you make the text and effects you want in this code is FASS. It’s free and can be found here: http://www.pawsoft.com/?p=fass/home

If you really want to make progress you should also track your links in the signature. Many online businesses have tracking software for this purpose.  You should always track your results as part of your marketing strategy and you can do that through GlobalNPN or another tracking proram.

What forums should I use?

Since my expertise is in Internet Marketing I have some forums I would like to recommend forums in this category.

The Warrior Forum – The Warrior Forum is a very friendly forum for Internet marketing and learning how to make money online. Many of these forums are rough places. Not for the sensitive types. However, I have never experienced this on The Warrior Forum. The people here are very willing to help beginners learn how to make money online.

Digital Point Forums – Digital Point Forums are very active Internet marketing forums. Digital Point is a hub for people making money (or hoping to make money) on the Internet. I encourage you to check out all of the forums at Digital Point. The amount of information on these forums is absolutely amazing.  This might be the most active Internet marketing forum.

Network Company Stupid Tricks

The most incredible stupid tricks network marketing companies do is letting some legal department enforce their policies and procedures.

Think about this for a bit. If a network marketing company appoints a legal team to write the policies and procedures and administers the legalities of the company, the network company has generally spent about a quarter of a million dollars retaining this legal department.

So now the legal department has to justify that they just added a quarter of a million dollars overhead to the network company. So the legal team composes Policies and Procedures so complex, so confusing – it’s just mumbo jumbo.

And you have to read chapter 9, and remember section C. Then down in 14.D, they mention it again, and you have to apply those 2 together. They wrote a bit about it up there. Now they add the rest of it down here.

But if you don’t connect the two, you do not know what they’re talking about.

Legal representatives LOVE Writing All This BS!

For example: in some network companies, the P & Ps say you yourself are responsible for monitoring your downline organization’s activities. If THEY do something illegal, then YOU are responsible for it.

A friend of mine got terminated because one of his downline members enrolled someone who was in another opportunity sideline, which was cross recruiting. But they held the sponsor accountable, and they terminated him, so they could steal his check. Real simple. Real simple.

And your people on top signing the bonus checks must have built a downline themselves. MLM CEOs who never built a downline don’t know anything about MLM distributors.

Network Marketing Companies Are NOTHING Without Distributors!

CEOs who have built a downline know that. They know that companies would be nothing without the distributors.

Sure, they need a product. And yes, they have to ship this product. They have to send a bonus check, of course. But who is building the company? Who’s building the volume?

Answer: The distributor. And if the CEO understands that, then they treat the distributors like gold. They don’t have some legal department trying to terminate their distributors.

Stupid Trick #2

And the other stupid thing network marketing companies do is, they don’t listen to the field. The distributors are in the fire every day. Companies need to learn what their distributors see, what they do, what they hear and what they say.

We tell people all the time, “Read your Policies & Procedures.” A friend and team mate of mine got a phone call the other day from the co-owner of a network marketing company. Actually, his secretary called him to ask a few questions about why he was telling people to read their Policies & Procedures. Because they got a bunch of people doing it and it ticked them off!

This company, based out of Texas, has the most ruthless Policies & Procedures you’ve ever seen. They are unbelievable.

Want To Sell The Business YOU Built? Gobbledygook!

For example – if you desired to sell your downline, sell your business, you have a 10-page document that you have to fill out. And before you offer the business to anyone, you have to offer it to the company first.

And when you send your request for them to buy it, you have to include a $100 nonrefundable fee. And then they can say yes or no!

Next step is, when the company says “No”, they will then send you info about 3 upline members you can sell your business to. You have to offer it to each of them one at a time. And the P & Ps instruct that to buy YOUR business, they must resign their own business.

So usually, they say “No”. And after all 3 have turned you down, one at a time, then you have to offer your business to somebody in your downline. And they make it so clear – they say “if you circumvent any part of this procedure, you are terminated.”

So my friend told the secretary to have the co-owner call him and they could meat about the situation. But the secretary said that he does not talk to people directly!

And my friend said, “Well, he talked to YOU!” So she told me he doesn’t return phone calls, doesn’t talk to any distributors directly.

My friend was stunned, and as was I when he told me. I sat in my chair thinking, “Wow! This is unbelievable!” Now this guy wants to talk to my friend to find out why we are telling people to read their policies and procedures. That is unbelivable. what a trip!

The Leadership Skills Of A Successful Leader

The call for a new brand of leaders have been heard for decades. Today’s leaders needs the leadership skills of a new era. Napoleon Hill started talking about it as early as 1937 in the famous book “Think and Grow Rich”, but it’s still as important today as was back in the 1930′s.

According to Napoleon Hill there are two forms of leadership. “Leadership by Consent” and “Leadership by Force”. Nopoleon shows the first for as the most effective and points to history for evidence. The significant downfall of dictators and kings shows that people will not follow the force of a leader indefinitly.

Napoleon Hill further talked about the importance of being an inteligent follower in order to develope into a leader. You need to be able to follow a leader efficiently in order to become an effective leader.

Seventy or so years ago, Napoleon Hill wrote down what he believed were the major attributes needed to be a successful leader. Although he used the male pronouns, Napoleon made it very clear in his book “Think and Grow Rich”, that he believes woman had just as much potential as men, which where extremly forward thinking for his time. I chose to quote his words “as is”:

1. UNWAVERING COURAGE based upon knowledge of self, and of one’s occupation. No follower wishes to be dominated by a leader who lacks self-confidence and courage. No intelligent follower will be dominated by such a leader very long.

2. SELF-CONTROL. The man who cannot control himself, can never control others. Self-control sets a mighty example for one’s followers, which the more intelligent will emulate.

3. A KEEN SENSE OF JUSTICE. Without a sense of fairness and justice, no leader can command and retain the respect of his followers.

4. DEFINITENESS OF DECISION. The man who wavers in his decisions, shows that he is not sure of himself. He cannot lead others successfully.

5. DEFINITENESS OF PLANS. The successful leader must plan his work, and work his plan. A leader who moves by guesswork, without practical, definite plans, is comparable to a ship witho ut a rudder. Sooner or later he will land on the rocks.

6. THE HABIT OF DOING MORE THAN PAID FOR. One of the penalties of leadership is the necessity of willingness, upon the part of the leader, to do more than he requires of his followers.

7. A PLEASING PERSONALITY. No slovenly, careless person can become a successful leader. Leadership calls for respect. Followers will not respect a leader who does not grade high on all of the factors of a Pleasing Personality.

8. SYMPATHY AND UNDERSTANDING. The successful leader must be in sympathy with his followers. Moreover, he must understand them and their problems.

9. MASTERY OF DETAIL. Successful leadership calls for mastery of details of the leader’s position.

10. WILLINGNESS TO ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY. The successful leader must be willing to assume responsibility for the mistakes and the shortcomings of his followers. If he tries to shift this responsibility, he will not remain the leader. If one of his followers makes a mistake, and shows himself incompetent, the leader must consider that it is he who failed.

11. COOPERATION. The successful leader must understand, and apply the principle of cooperative effort and be able to induce his followers to do the same. Leadership calls for POWER, and power calls for COOPERATION.

Napoleon Hill where one of the first to call out for the change in leadership, but many followed him.

In 1970 Robert Greenleaf puplished the essay “The Servant as Leader” which first introduced the term “servant leadersip”. This became the title of his most important work, puplished in 2002. He there introdused his “best test”. His “best test” for grading servant leadership, which he knew would be hard to grade, is stated:

Do those served grow as persons? Do they, while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants? And, what is the effect on the least privileged in society? Will they benefit or at least not be further deprived?

Thinking rich and becoming rich will certainly put you in a position of leadership. I hope that some of Hill’s and Greenleaf’s suggestion will encourage you to decelope your own leadership skills and help change what seems to have become ordinary business in today’s leaders.

Truth About The Network Marketing Numbers Game

The Heavy Hitters tell you, “It’s Just A Numbers Game.”

Truth: People are people – not numbers. They have goals, dreams and desires.

They are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandmothers, and grandfather’s to someone that loves them. They are not a number, but real people. Your integraty and success is only secured through relationship marketing.

If you treat them like a number, I promise you: you have NO future in network marketing.

This lie teaches people to be a recruiter, not a sponsor. Recruit, recruit, recruit.

Numbers, numbers, numbers. Lies, lies, lies.

A recruiter never knows their personally sponsored people’s “WHY.” Or their dreams, goals, or spouse’s or children’s names. It’s only about numbers.

To succeed long-term, you need to become a mentor with a servant’s heart.

When you do, people will ask you to PLEASE sponsor them into your business.

The Heavy Hitters tell you network marketing is a sales business.

It’s not.

Truth: Network marketing is a teaching & mentoring business. If you study vitamins, or long-distance switches, or the age of the monk in the white lab coat that scraped the mold off the rock on the full moon twice a year … or ANY product or service … you’re wasting your time.

Your product is people. So study people. Find out how you can help them reach their dreams.

THEIR dreams. Not your dreams.
